Hello! It’s the last month of summer, and this August in Antioch Kids preschoolers will be reviewing our three basic truths: God made us, God loves us, and Jesus wants to be our friend forever.
Bottom Line: God loves me.
Memory Verse: “Nothing can separate us from God’s love” (Romans 8:39, NIrV).
Below is a summary of the four Bible stories we’ll be teaching this month, as well as a few links to other resources to accompany this month’s curriculum.
- The Creation of People & The Sermon on the Mount • Genesis 1:26-27; Matthew 6:25-34 | God takes care of people and doesn’t want them to worry. During the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells the crowd that they don’t have to worry about what they will eat or wear, because God loves to care for them.
- Abraham Follows God • Genesis 12:1-7 | God has a plan for people. God told Abraham to take his little family and all of his stuff, and start walking! Abraham didn’t know where to go, but God said He would tell him on the way. Once they got to Canaan, God told Abraham He had a plan to give him a huge family and lots of land.
- The Lost Sheep • Luke 15:3-7 | God cares about each one of us. Even though the shepherd had 99 other sheep, He cared about the one little lost sheep. God cares about us that much too! When we are lost, He comes and finds us.
- Zacchaeus • Luke 19:1-8 | Jesus loves me no matter what. People didn’t like Zacchaeus, because he stole money from them. But when Jesus came to town, he told Zacchaeus he wanted to be his friend, even though he had made wrong choices! After spending time with Jesus, Zacchaeus didn’t want to do wrong things anymore, and he gave back the money he stole. Check out the story video here!

We’re excited to teach kids this month that God has a plan for everyone in His Big Story, God will take care of us, God loves each one of us, and that nothing can separate us from God’s love (even our own mistakes!). We invite you to take some time this month to snuggle your kiddos, pray with them, let them pick a meal or activity, enjoy some time in God’s creation, and remind them how much Jesus loves them!
