58: Global Impact Tour

Have you ever wondered what you can do in your daily life to help people in countries all over the world?

58: Global Impact Tour makes it easy!

Each month, they highlight a different country that is plagued by extreme poverty.  You can use this website as an information database to find out facts about the country, the people and what’s going on there.  You can also use this website as a platform for giving.  They give you the tools to help fight extreme poverty worldwide.  Together with people around the world, you can fast, pray, and give.  You can even create a profile, commit to something you will give up (coffee, movies, birthday gifts, etc.) and track your progress!

What a great way to educate your kids about people and poverty around the world and teach them the principle of sacrifice and giving at an early age!

Watch the video below and check out http://www.live58.org/ to find out how you can get involved.

Happy Monday!

Jingle Jam pictures are here!

Jingle Jam sure was a blast!  We were so happy to see so many of you there!

Amongst all the fun things at Jingle Jam – Christmas songs, dancing, hot cocoa, Christmas story, marshmallows – was a Christmas themed photo booth (complete with nativity costumes and silly props!)

Our good friend and photographer, Tony Querio, was kind enough to take the photos – and he did a GREAT job!  Thanks, Tony!

You can check out a few photos here:

Want to see the rest? Visit our photobucket album, enter the password AntiochKids, and download the pictures of your kids for your own personal albums.

Happy Belated Christmas from Linda and Stephanie : )

This month your children will be learning about the virtue, Self-Control:  Choosing to do what you should do, not what you want to do.Help your kids practice this month’s memory verse:

“My dear brothers and sisters, pay attention to what I say. Everyone should be quick to listen.  But they should be slow to speak.  They should be slow to get angry.”  James 1:19 NlrV

As a family, find a fun way to help your kids easily memorize God’s word – you could make up some hand motions, or sing the words to a familiar melody!

Happy New Year!

Why not use the start to this New Year as an opportunity to create a family calendar?

Check out this great Mission Kids activity called Celebrate International Holidays.  This gives every holiday in the world!  You can search for a date and see every country that celebrates something on that day.  What a neat opportunity to learn about other cultures, their holidays, and maybe even participate in them!

Here is a link to a free printable calendar – it’s free so you can let each kid make their own calendar or just do one for the whole family.  Don’t forget to add your birthdays, too!

We hope you enjoy making family calendars and take advantage of the opportunity to learn about our friends around the world!

Happy New Year from Linda and Stephanie!
